  • PI contact: Mandatory field describing the PI (principal investigator) for the project project.
  • Project Name: Mandatory field for the name of the project. The project name must , which must be unique. 
  • Project Description: Optional free text field to describe the project.
  • Properties:
    • date_sampled: Optional free text field describing states the date or approximate date the tissue was sampled. Note, this is not not a standard date field. It is important that the curators for the crop community define how dates are entered for this field.
    • division: Optional free text field describing the department or group where the project was initiated.
    • genotyping_purpose: Optional free text field describing the purpose of the project. For example, MABC or MAIC. It is important that the crop community define standards for entering data into this field.
    • study_name: Optional free text field describing the larger study name that the project is associated with.

  1. From the menu bar, select Create | Projects. A list of existing projects display on the left-hand side of the page. Clicking Export exports  Clicking Export exports a text file of the projects listed.

  2. Select the PI contact from the drop-down menu. All projects available to the PI are filtered by the PI. To add a new PI contact, refer to Contacts
  3. Add an unique project name in the Project Name field. The project name needs to be unique to the GOBii-GDM instance.
  4. Add an optional project description and optional properties in the applicable fields.
  5. Click Add New. The new project name displays on the left-hand side of the page. If the project name already exist, an error message displays.
  6. Alternately, you can create a new project by editing an existing project, then clickingclick Add New, as long as you assign a unique project name in the Project Name field. Or, click Clear Fields in an existing project, edit fields, then click Add New. Clicking Clear Fields does not not delete an existing project entry. When you edit empty fields, then click Add New , a and a new project generates.

  2. Select the project you want to update. Details relating to the project display on the right-hand side of the page.
  3. Update the information in the applicable fields. If you change the project name, any associated entities remain associated.
  4. Click Update. The requested changes are made.

  1. After you create a project, you can add an associated experiment. You can do this from the Projects page by first selecting the project on the left-hand side of the page, then clicking Add Experiment. Taking this route to the Experiments page results in your project being pre-selected.
  2. Alternately, select Create | Experiments from the menu bar, then select the relevant project from the drop-down menu. Refer to Experiments for  for additional information.
